Dhaliwal Farm is focused on building a productive and resilient future for its operation. With support from the Enhanced Replant Program (ERP), the farm is taking meaningful steps to renew existing perennial acreage and strengthen long‑term farm viability.

ERP helps producers invest in the future of their farms by providing direct funding to replace damaged, diseased, or low-performing perennial crops with climate-resilient, market-ready varieties. For Dhaliwal Farm, the program provided valuable support at a critical time, helping offset the high costs and risks of re-establishing perennial crops. After removing two acres of cherry trees, the farm accessed ERP funding to support the replanting of two acres of Pacific Gala apples.

ERP support helped Dhaliwal Farm make strategic replant decisions focused on improving productivity, resiliency, and overall field performance.

Beyond the immediate benefits of renewal, the project strengthened the farm’s long‑term outlook. By investing in healthier, more resilient plantings, Dhaliwal Farm is better positioned to manage future climate pressures while maintaining consistent production and quality.

By supporting projects like this, the Enhanced Replant Program plays an important role in helping BC producers modernize their operations and remain competitive in domestic and global markets. Dhaliwal Farm’s experience demonstrates how targeted replant funding can support renewal, resilience, and sustainability across British Columbia’s agriculture sector.
