As a client of IAF, you have rights and responsibilities.
Your Rights
- To receive services free from discrimination as per the Human Rights Code or the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
- To be treated in a respectful manner and to be free from physical, sexual, mental, emotional, verbal, and financial abuse.
- To be treated in a manner that respects your privacy and dignity.
- To be treated in a manner that recognizes your individuality, that is sensitive to and responds to your needs and preferences, including those based on ethnic, spiritual, linguistic, familial, and cultural factors.
- To receive clear information about our services in a format that is accessible to you.
- To raise concerns, recommend changes, or appeal decisions related to the services you receive, and with policies and decisions that affect your interests, without fear of interference, coercion, discrimination, or reprisal. [appeals process link should be here]
- To be informed of the laws, rules and policies affecting the delivery of your services, and to be informed, in writing, of the procedures for initiating complaints about the services you are receiving.
- To have your personal information kept confidential and private in accordance with current legislation.
Your Responsibilities
- To treat staff with courtesy and respect, free from discrimination and harassment.
- To provide accurate and complete information about yourself and your project to help us deliver programs and services.
- To be informed and to ask questions to ensure a clear understanding of the services you wish to participate in.
- To participate cooperatively in the mutually agreed upon project(s) to the best of your ability.
- To inform IAF of any changes that could affect your project or services provided.
- Contracts: be informed and consent to project contract and notify IAF of changes to your project or contract or organization.

We may update our Client Rights & Responsibilities from time to time. We will post and highlight changes to Client Rights & Responsibilities on this page. We will let you know via email (via the IAF Growing Today Newsletter) and/or update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Client Rights & Responsibilities page. You are advised to review this Client Rights & Responsibilities periodically for any changes. Changes to this Client Rights & Responsibilities are effective when they are posted on this page.
